Soccer School Success!

Fulham FC Foundation is pleased to announce that eight year old Toby McKimm, who joined Fulham Soccer Schools in February 2012, has now progressed through to the Club’s Academy and is part of the Under-9s team.

Having not played football for a club before, Toby joined Fulham Soccer Schools purely for his love of the sport and had no idea that this would change his future. Lisa McKimm, Toby’s mother, told us: “Since booking onto the Soccer School at Fulham, Toby has not stopped expressing his love of football. It has given him a fantastic opportunity to progress and opened up a door for his future. We are so proud of him and thankful to Fulham for helping him develop as a goalkeeper.”

During Toby’s first Fulham Soccer Schools session he was spotted by Foundation coach Paul Smithers and asked to come to the Advanced Centre; the Foundation’s development centre for talented young footballers who have been identified whilst participating in football coaching sessions in the community.

Having been involved in the Advanced Centre for over a year, Toby recently accepted a move into the Academy and has been there since the start of the season.

Steven Day, CEO at Fulham FC Foundation, commented: “Toby is an excellent goalkeeper and as soon as our coaches saw him play, they recognised that he had a lot of potential for the future.

“Fulham FC Foundation is always keen to support the identification of talent and provides opportunities for gifted young people to progress into further training and development. Fulham FC Foundation would like to congratulate Toby for his achievements and wish him the best for his future! We hope that we can help many other young people fulfil their full potential in the future.”
