Skills Club 2015/16

Skills Club is back! Heading into it's second full season, the first block of the new year will commence on Saturday 5th September 2015. Courses will be available to book online from this evening (Thursday 13th August) at 7.30pm.

Please see below a guide for age groups for the 2015/16 season. It is imperative that your child is booked into the correct age group for their date of birth, so please read the below carefully (if you cannot view the below image, it is also available online). More often than not talented players (in their own age groups) will be moved into some form of talent programme, such as Academy Development Centres or Foundation Performance Centres. If they are in the wrong age groups they can be harder to identify.

The aim of Skills Club is to develop player’s ability as both an individual and part of a structured team. Players will develop their all round game following the multi-focus approach adopted by our successful and highly-regarded Academy. Within this model players will develop in four key areas:

  1. Technically – Improved ability to perform skills with control and poise
  2. Tactically – Improved understanding of the game and the decisions they make within it
  3. Physically – Improve players ability to move with control, focussing on better balance, agility and coordination
  4. Personally – Improve players values and approach towards sport and challenges

Skills Club takes place at a number of great venues across London and Surrey and is tailored for children between the ages of 3 and 9. Teams will be formed based on player ages and these teams will have a maximum age band of two years, to ensure that coaching is specific and relevant to each and every child that takes part.
